Jared Aufrichtig grew up in Los Angeles, visiting his grandmother Edith in South Africa regularly as a child. Edith was an important collector of South African art and she inspired Aufrichtig to follow a career in the arts. Over the many years that followed, living in both South Africa and America, Aufrichtig has developed a unique voice, making public works, street art, and engaging in multiple social upliftment projects.

 

The title for the exhibition is a tribute to Edith and the master work Aufrichtig grew up surrounded by, reimagined as a contemporary exhibition with masters of now. For MODERN MASTERS he has selected 6 local and 6 international artists to show alongside each other. He has selected works by artists he respects and admires, some of whom he has worked alongside and collaborated with.
